U20 hurlers move into the final rounds

Ballycran’s U20 hurlers are now through to the final round of games in the small sided Down GAA competition.  The nine aside team travelled to Abbey CBS last Friday to play under the floodlights against Warrenpoint and Michael Cussacks.

Manager, Eoghan Hughes had this to say “We were down to the bare minimum of players due to a number of early season injuries requiring players to rest up but the squad that travelled down put in a massive effort and I was delighted for them to get the two wins on heavy ground, playing back to back games. We were starting to show signs of tiredness in the latter part of the second game, but our defence doubled down to make sure we didn’t allow the gap to be closed.”

The two semi finals and final will be played in St. Patrick’s Park, Portaferry on Sunday.  Keep an eye on the match centre for game times but Eoghan believes Ballycran’s first match is at 12 noon.  Here are a few photos sent in from Dermot Donnelly for your enjoyment.
